Description:
The 2020 State Municipal League Executive Directors and Presidents Fly-In provides State Municipal League leaders an important opportunity to advocate for city priorities with the 116th Congress and network with peers from across the country.

On February 5, NLC’s Federal Advocacy staff will host a briefing to provide an update on the top issues facing cities in 2020 and review what to expect during your meetings on Capitol Hill. On February 6, NLC’s Federal Advocacy staff will schedule a full day of meetings with Members of Congress, as well as key Committee leadership.

In addition to Hill meetings on Feb. 6, NLC has partnered with the American Association for the Advancement of Science’s Center for Scientific Evidence in Public Issues (AAAS EPI Center) to offer a stakeholder engagement summit on February 7 in Washington, DC. During the summit we will discuss topics related to water pollution and management, including contamination from persistent chemicals such as PFAS. The summit will include an opportunity to connect with scientific experts actively working to address PFAS, explore whether the existing scientific evidence is accessible and useful for decision-makers, and address the specific concerns of summit participants.

The event will take place on Friday, Feb. 7 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Your Thursday night hotel room will be covered.

The AAAS event is optional and you must opt-out of the session by un-checking the box during your registration if you do not wish to attend.
